There can be several reasons as to why your Fluz virtual card may be declined.

  1. Your transactions may not go through if the card details, such as the billing address and expiry date, do not match. Please ensure to always input the correct virtual card details.

  2. Declined transactions may be merchant related, meaning the store you are buying from declined the transaction.

  3. It is also possible that some stores outside of the U.S. do not accept international cards. We recommend you reach out to the merchant directly to ask about what payment methods they accept.

  4. The transaction could also be declined if the merchant or item you are shopping is restricted. Examples of merchant categories that are restricted are gambling and firearms.

  5. If the virtual card is locked, the transaction will also be declined. We recommend that you edit your virtual card, and try to complete the transaction again.

  6. Your transactions may not go through if you have reached your card's spend limit. Learn how to edit your virtual card here. Here are some examples that would cause an insufficient funds error:

    • When purchasing internationally, foreign currency conversion rates and fees are applied which may cause your total amount to exceed the balance of your virtual card.

    • When paying online for a restaurant or a service & tipping related merchant, the tip may have caused your total charge to go above the balance of your virtual card. It is always safer to generate a higher amount as we only charge you when you spend, for what you spend.
