Here are some frequently asked questions about using bank payments on your Fluz App:

Can I pay using my ACH or Bank Account?

Absolutely! We encourage you to use your bank account (also called ACH) as your primary payment method on the Fluz App. When you pay with your bank account, you get at least 1% more cashback than if you were to pay with a debit card, credit card, or digital wallet.

Note: If you pay partially with Bank Payments and use your Fluz Pay balance for the rest of the amount, you only get the 1% additional cashback. You are not able to get the 1% additional from paying with your Fluz Pay balance as well.

Please also note that when you pay with your bank account, a hold will be placed on your chosen back-up payment method for the same amount. This is immediately released once the ACH payment clears.

An authorization hold will be placed on your chosen back up payment method at the time of purchase.

When you make a purchase with a bank account, we make a charge on your chosen bank account as well as an "authorization hold" on your chosen back up credit card. When your ACH payment settles, the authorization hold on your credit card is released, and there will be no charge at all. This amount will fall off from your credit card statement typically in 2 to 3 business days, depending on your bank. In the case wherein your ACH payment does not settle, the authorization hold on your bank will be "captured" and the hold on your ACH will be released. In essence, your back up payment was the one that was charged.

Fluz will never charge you twice for the same transaction. It is possible your bank has not yet reflected that the auth hold was released. Please wait up to 5 business days.
If it still hasn't fallen off yet, please reach out to our customer support and we'll be happy to check for you.

Note: If your chosen back up payment method is a debit card that is connected to the same bank account as your primary payment method, you will see 2 amounts on your statement: 1) the main charge and 2) the auth hold from your debit card. Please keep this in mind when choosing your back up payment method. Fluz is not responsible for any overdraft fees that may be imposed by your bank.

Why should I trust Fluz with my bank account?

We use MX to securely connect to your bank account. MX uses encryption and internationally-recognized security standards to protect your information.

I paid with my bank account or ACH, but my back-up was charged for the same amount.

Since ACH payments, by nature take a few days to settle, the app will sometimes require you a back up payment method, just in case there are issues with the settlement of your ACH.

How long before the back up payment hold is removed from my account?

This amount should clear out from your credit card statement within 1 to 3 business days. Please contact your bank if the hold on your card does not clear.

In case the ACH payment does not clear, we will charge your chosen back up payment method instead.

How do I add a bank account as my payment or withdrawal method?

I'm trying to connect my Bank Account but I can't find it?

Our 3rd party bank connecting system, MX, has an extensive list of partner banks and financial institutions. If you do not immediately see your preferred bank on the list, you may search for it in the search bar.

If it is still does not appear, please try adding another bank account or connecting another payment method.

Don't worry, as MX grows, their partner list is continually being updated. It's only a matter of time until your personal bank is included, too! We recommend checking your app from time to time, as your bank may have already been added.

How do I remove/disable my bank account as a withdrawal method?

  1. Tap on the Menu (☰) on the top right of your screen.

  2. Click on Accounts & Cards, then the Money Out tab.

  3. Go to Connected Accounts.

  4. Select the bank account you wish to remove, then choose Disable or Remove.

  5. If you do not see the Disable button, it means that you need to first input an address.

What are overdraft fees?

An overdraft fee is a charge from your bank when you do not have enough funds to cover a transaction. Instead of declining a transaction, the bank opts to complete the transaction and will charge you an overdraft fee for covering that amount.

Many banks charge a fixed amount for an overdraft fee, although some banks do not charge at all.

Most banks have an opt-in overdraft program wherein they will pay for certain overdraft transactions and charge a fee.

You could also be charged this fee if you link your checking account to another account, for example a savings account. When an overdraft happens, the bank uses money from the linked account and puts it in your checking account to cover a transaction. You will end up paying a small fee for this service. Banks can also charge another fee from your checking account if an overdraft transaction is paid by a credit card connected to your account.
