Adding a Backup Payment Method

When you transact with Fluz, you may be required to add a backup payment method. If this is necessary we will send you an email letting you know that this is necessary.

You may also be prompted to add a backup payment method when you purchase a gift card using an ACH as your payment method.


Currently, only credit or debit cards are allowed as back up payment methods.

ℹ️ Important : In some instances, a temporary hold for the total transaction amount will be placed on your backup payment method. If the ACH payment clears, this hold will fall off within 1-7 business days depending on your bank (usually sooner) and you will only be charged once. If the ACH payment does not clear successfully, then your back up payment method will be charged instead.


How to add your backup payment method.

1. Tap Menu at the upper right corner of the app

2. Tap on Accounts & Cards

3. Select Money In by tapping it

4. Add a credit or a debit card

Currently, only credit or debit cards are allowed as back up payment methods.

5. Next time you are transacting with Fluz and are required to Choose your backup payment method, select the card you added here.

6. You have now added a backup payment method!

Important note:

  • Be careful when choosing a debit card as your backup payment method! If the back up method you chose is a debit card connected to the same bank account that you chose as the primary payment method, then you may see 2 amounts on hold: one for the ACH transaction and one authorization hold for the debit card. Make sure your bank account has enough funds to cover both amounts to avoid overdraft fees.
