If Fluz shows a QuickBooks message, find it below to see what it means and how to fix it. Most of these are quick to resolve, and none of them mean anything is wrong with your Fluz account or your money.
A transaction that doesn't sync stays in Fluz with its details saved. You can fix the cause and sync it again.
Messages when connecting
What you see | Why | What to do |
The QuickBooks window never appears | Your browser blocked the pop-up. | Allow pop-ups for Fluz and try again. |
"Your connection session expired. Please try connecting again." | The QuickBooks sign-in took more than 10 minutes, or the sign-in link was already used. | Start again from Connect. |
"QuickBooks denied the connection." | Access wasn't approved in the QuickBooks window. | Try again and approve access. |
"This QuickBooks company is already connected to another Fluz account." | Each QuickBooks company can link to only one Fluz account. | Disconnect it from the other Fluz account first. |
Messages about your setup
What you see | Why | What to do |
"Finish QuickBooks setup" or "Fee account is missing" | Setup isn't complete. | Open the Manage panel, fill in the missing accounts, and click Update. |
"Missing mapping" | The money came from a spend account or funding source that doesn't have a QuickBooks account yet. | Map it in the Manage panel, then sync again. |
"Action required" | An account Fluz uses was deleted or made inactive in QuickBooks, or a closed spend account still has transactions to sync. | Open the Manage panel and update the items shown. |
"Reconnect QuickBooks" | The link to QuickBooks expired or was disconnected from inside QuickBooks. | Click Reconnect and sign in to QuickBooks again. Your settings are kept. |
Messages when syncing
What you see | Why | What to do |
Sync to QuickBooks is grayed out | A required detail is missing, or the transaction hasn't settled yet. | Hover over the button to see the reason, for example "Select a category before syncing." |
"Pending settlement" | Only settled transactions can sync. | Wait for the transaction to settle, then sync. |
"QuickBooks period is closed" | The transaction date falls in a period that's closed in QuickBooks. | Ask your bookkeeper to adjust the closing date in QuickBooks, then sync again. |
"QuickBooks selection needs refresh" | The category, vendor or customer you chose was deleted or made inactive in QuickBooks. | Choose a different one and sync again. |
"Sync attempts exceeded" | The transaction failed to sync several times in a row. | Edit any detail on the transaction to reset it, then sync again. |
"QuickBooks sync is already running" | Another sync is in progress. | Wait for it to finish before starting another. |
"QuickBooks is busy" | QuickBooks is briefly limiting traffic. | Wait a minute before trying again. |
"Out of range" | The transaction is dated before the start date you chose. | If nothing has synced yet, change your start date in the Manage panel to include it. After your first sync, the start date is locked and this transaction won't be sent. |
"Not supported" | Some transaction types, such as card verifications, can't be sent to QuickBooks. | No action needed. |
"Receipt unavailable" | This transaction type doesn't accept receipts. | No action needed. The transaction can still sync without one. |
A new category or vendor isn't in the list | Fluz hasn't picked up the latest changes from QuickBooks yet. | Click Refresh data in the Manage panel. |
