What is cash back?
Retailers in the USA spent over 206 Billion dollars in 2017 trying to promote their products to the general public. Fluz captures some of that market share by providing a simple and guaranteed way for retailers to attract new customers and retain older ones. With the Fluz model, merchants only pay when they make an actual sale, making it much more efficient than spending large amounts of money on TV or billboard ads that might not actually be a cost-effective way to convert sales.
Since Fluz has a direct connection with such a large amount of shoppers, and retailers only pay once they realize a sale, it actually saves them money to market their brand through Fluz and pay their customers a portion of their marketing budget directly. This is what the retailers call “cash back."
When will I receive my cash back from a Fluz purchase?
In most cases, your rewards will appear immediately after you successfully purchase through the app.
How can I tell if I’m earning cash back?
Following a successful purchase, you will receive an email confirmation that will include how much cash back you earned from that specific purchase.
You will see an increase in the cash back balance within your Fluz digital wallet.
Tap the Fluz balance amount on the top left of your screen and you should be able to view your available balance and rewards history.

With the release of Fluz messaging, after you complete a purchase, in the messaging folder in the Fluz app. The message appear as sent from the Store you bought and will state the cash back you earned from that purchase.
How can I keep track of the cash back I’ve received?
You can check your cash back balance directly from the Fluz app. Just log in to the app and tap the balance in the top left corner of your screen. This will lead you to your Fluz wallet where you will find all of your wallet activity, including your available cash back balance, pending cash back balance, and the total cash back amount earned over the life of your account; including a breakdown of the personal cash back earned, and network cash back earned.
Do I have to pay taxes on my Fluz Pay balance or cash back earnings?
If you make $600 or more through the app, Fluz is required by law to submit a 1099 tax form to the IRS for your account.
The cash back you get on your own purchases is treated as a discount and is not taxable. However, all other money you earn from Fluz (challenges, bonuses, inviter cash back, network cash back) is 1099 income and will count towards that $600.
Towards the end of the year (2022), Fluz may start reporting and we may be requiring information such as SSN, legal name, billing address, and date of birth via the "verify your legal identity" requirement from the mobile app, to issue you a 1099 at the end of the tax year.
While Fluz will not withhold any earnings for tax purposes, the IRS will be receiving a copy of your 1099 at the end of the year, which will state exactly how much cash back you accrued for that tax season. You will be expected to pay a portion of that total reward amount to the IRS, along with your usual annual tax payments.
The exact percentage rate at which you will be taxed on your Fluz earnings will vary between individuals, and factors such as total household income, number of dependents, etc. will mean that no exact blanket percentage can be given.
Fluz recommends meeting with your Certified Public Accountant to confirm that proper filings are in place for your individual situation. Fluz can not offer any type of personalized tax consulting.
I'm an international user, do I have to pay tax on my cash back?
International users, also known as non U.S. persons, will not be issued a 1099 form at the end of the tax year.
Do I have to scan my receipt or do any other manual recording to earn cash back on my purchase?
No, Fluz has made it super easy to track and earn cash back on the items you buy.
No receipt fumbling, product barcode scanning, or manual tracking of any kind is used within our app, and beyond making the actual Fluz purchase from within the app, users do not have to take any action to earn their cash back.
You can view your past transactions by navigating into the Menu (☰) button, located in the top right corner of the Fluz app. Under wallet, you can select Past purchases. Here you will be presented with 2 tabs, Active and Spent. If the transaction you are looking for is not in the "active" tab, try looking under the "spent" tab
Help: I never received cash back for my Fluz purchase.
You should see the cash back from your Fluz purchase reflected in your Fluz wallet within 24 hours. You should also receive a notification in your Activity feed as well as a confirmation of your purchase in your email.
