How to redeem, check balance, terms & help desk.

How to Redeem:

  • Mobile/Desktop:

    1. On your Mac, open the App Store. Click your name or the sign-in button in the sidebar. Then click 'Redeem Gift Card.'

    2. Click "Use Camera" and follow the instructions on the screen. If you have trouble redeeming the card, click "You can also enter your code manually," then follow the instructions on the screen. Make sure that you enter the 16-digit code that begins with X.

    3. For Windows, If you're using a PC, redeem your gift card in iTunes. From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Account, then choose Redeem, then sign in and follow the instructions on the screen.

  • In-app:

    1. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, open the App Store app. At the bottom of the screen, tap Today. At the top of the screen, tap the sign-in button

      or your photo.

    2. Tap "Redeem Gift Card or Code." If you don’t see “Redeem Gift Card or Code,” sign in with your Apple ID. Learn what to do if you forgot your Apple ID.

    3. Tap "Use Camera" and follow the instructions on the screen. If you have trouble redeeming the card, tap "You can also enter your code manually," then follow the instructions on the screen. Make sure that you enter the 16-digit code that begins with X. Tap Done.


How to check your balance:

  • Mobile/Desktop:

    1. On Mac, Open the App Store. If you see the sign-in button

      at the bottom of the sidebar, click it and sign in with your Apple ID.

    2. Open iTunes for Windows. If you're not signed in, sign in with your Apple ID. At the top of the iTunes window, click Store.

    3. If you have a balance, the amount appears below your name. If you don't see an amount, you don't have a balance.

  • In-app:

    1. Open the App Store app.Tap your photo or the sign-in button

      at the top of the screen. You might be asked to sign in with your Apple ID.

    2. If you have a balance, the amount appears below your name. If you don't see an amount, you don't have a balance.


Abridged terms and conditions:

  • You can use an Apple Gift Card in an Apple Store or redeem it online. When you redeem an Apple Gift Card online, you can make purchases with your Apple ID balance, including apps, subscriptions like Apple Music, products from apple.com, and more. But for some purchases, Apple ID balance can't be used. Learn what you can buy with your Apple ID balance.

    If you spent only some of the gift card in an Apple Store, you can still redeem it online.

    On an Android device, you can use your gift card to buy an Apple Music subscription. To make purchases from the App Store, Apple Books, or the Apple TV app, use an Apple device.

  • Apple Gift Cards are solely for the purchase of goods and services from the Apple Store, the Apple Store app, apple.com, the App Store, iTunes, Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Books, and other Apple properties.

  • Recipient can redeem an Apple Gift Card or App Store & iTunes Gift Card to their Apple ID balance. Then they can use that balance to buy subscriptions like Apple Music, Apple Arcade, or Apple TV+. Or they can buy apps, movies, books, and more from Apple.

  • Additional payment will be required if the purchase price of your new Apple product exceeds the value of the gift card.

  • Not redeemable for:

    • May not be redeemed for purchases made from Apple Media Services, at Apple resellers, and for additional Apple Gift Cards.

  • Locations:

    • Apple Store Gift Cards are issued and managed by Apple Value Services, LLC and can be applied only to purchases in the U.S. from an Apple Store, at apple.com, or by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE.

    • The Apple Gift Card is available only in the United States, Canada, and Australia. If you're not in the United States, Canada, or Australia, or you have a different type of gift card, find out what type of gift card you have and how you can use it.
