What is spend power?

Spend power is the amount available for you to spend from a linked bank account on Fluz. It is set at the bank account level, so each bank account you connect has its own spend power.

Your spend power is based on our analysis of your bank account's activity and balances through your secure bank connection. We then factor in your recent spending on Fluz, including pending transactions, to determine the spend power available to you at any given moment.

In short, spend power = your available bank balance, adjusted for your recent and pending Fluz activity.

This means your spend power can be lower than your bank balance if you have Fluz transactions that haven't fully settled yet.

How often does spend power update?

Your spend power refreshes once a day, automatically.

Refreshing your spend power manually

If you've just moved money into your bank account and want it reflected right away, you can refresh your spend power manually instead of waiting for the daily automatic update.

You can manually refresh your spend power up to 6 times in a rolling 24-hour period. Each refresh becomes available again 24 hours after it was used.

A good rule of thumb: refresh after you deposit or transfer money into your account. There's no need to refresh repeatedly otherwise — the daily automatic refresh keeps your spend power current.

Why is my spend power lower than my bank balance?

The most common reasons are:

  • Pending transactions: Recent Fluz purchases that haven't settled yet reduce your available spend power.

  • A recent deposit hasn't been picked up yet: Try a manual refresh so we can re-check your balance.
