Managing authorized users on your account

Authorized users, add member, remove member, account roles, admin, supervisor, spender, viewer, transfer ownership

What is an authorized user?

An authorized user is someone you've added to your Fluz account as a member. Authorized users can access shared Spend Accounts, Virtual Cards, and gift cards based on the permissions you assign them. They are part of your account, unlike guests, who only receive access to a specific card.

How to add an authorized user

  1. Go to your account settings.

  2. Select Members (or Authorized Users).

  3. Tap Invite and enter the person's email address or phone number.

  4. Choose their account role and confirm.

The person will receive an invitation to join your account. Once they accept, they'll appear as an active member and gain access based on their assigned role.

Account roles

Each authorized user is assigned an account-level role that sets their baseline permissions across the account:

• Can view: View activity on shared resources.

• Can spend: Spend from shared accounts and cards, and submit edit requests.

• Can supervise: Edit and approve requests across shared resources.

• Admin: Full control, including managing members, permissions, and account settings.

A member's access to any specific Spend Account or card can be raised above their account role, but never below it. For example, a member with a "Can view" account role can be given "Can spend" access on a specific Spend Account, but an Admin will always have Admin access everywhere.

Changing a member's role

Account Admins can change any member's role from the Members list. Raising a role takes effect immediately. Lowering a role adjusts the member's baseline — but any resource-level permissions that were set higher than the new role will remain until explicitly changed.

Removing an authorized user

When you remove someone from your account:

• They lose access to all shared Spend Accounts, Virtual Cards, and gift cards on your account.

• Spend Accounts they own can be transferred to another member or deactivated (with any remaining balance moved to another spend account).

• Gift cards they own can be transferred to another member.

• Virtual Cards they own will follow the same transfer or deactivation flow as their funding Spend Account.

Removal is immediate. The person's personal Fluz account is not deleted, they just lose access to your account's shared resources.
