Read below and learn about your back-up payment method.

Why do I need a back up payment method?

Setting your preferred back up payment method will ensure that your bank account payments (also called ACH or Automated Clearing House) always go through. In case your ACH payments do not settle properly, Fluz will automatically charge your back up payment method for the amount that did not settle. This will ensure that your Fluz account remains in good standing and you can continue using the app without interruptions.

Setting your preferred payment method gives you control over which card is charged in the event that a back up is needed.

How do I know if I need to set my preferred back up payment method?

When you need to add a back up payment method, the app will prompt you to do so. Otherwise, you're smooth sailing!

Will my back up payment method be charged for all my purchases?

No. Your preferred back up payment method will only be charged if an ACH payment fails to settle. If your primary payment method, in this case a bank account, settles successfully, then your back up payment method will not be charged.

If you pay with a credit/debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay, then the back up payment method does not come into play.

When will my back up payment method be charged?

It typically takes 3-5 business days for an ACH transaction to settle. In the event that the ACH does not settle, then expect the back up payment to be automatically charged in that time frame as well.

You will receive an email notification when an ACH transaction does not settle and the back up is charged.

What funding source can I use as a back-up payment method?

Only credit or debit cards are allowed as back-up payment methods.

Please note that your preferred payment method cannot be the same as your back-up payment method.

What if my preferred payment method is my credit card?

Credit cards are not accepted as overall preferred payment method, only ACH or debit cards are. But you can still set a specific credit to your default payment method for gift card purchases. Learn more about preferred payment methods here.

We recommend that you link your bank account as your preferred payment method as this allows you to receive the highest possible reward amounts on your purchases. You can then use your previously linked credit card as a back-up payment method.
