How to redeem, check balance, terms & help desk.

How to Redeem:

  • Mobile/Desktop:

    Note: Redeemable only on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch, Wii U, and Nintendo 2DS/3DS/3DSXL.

    1. Go to Nintendo's website and make sure you're signed in to your Nintendo Account. There are options to sign in with your associated email address, your Nintendo Network ID, or via a social media account. After that, click here: https://ec.nintendo.com/redeem/#.

    2. Enter your code then select ‘Next.’ You may be asked to reenter your account password. Select the 'Redeem' option. You may also refer to this video link for reference.

    3. Your gift card balance will be applied to your order total.

  • Nintendo Switch:

    1. Make sure your Nintendo Switch system has the latest system update.

    2. From the Nintendo Switch HOME Menu, select the Nintendo eShop icon.

    3. Select 'Enter Code' on the left side of your screen.

    4. Enter your gift code and click '+/Ok.' You may also refer to this video link for reference.

  • Wii U:

    1. From the HOME Menu, select the Nintendo eShop icon.

    2. Select 'Balance' from the menu on the left side of the screen.

    3. Tap the button that says 'Nintendo eShop Card.'

    4. Tap the box that says, 'Enter the code.'

    5. Enter gift card code and tap 'OK'. Select 'Add' to add to your account.

  • Nintendo 2DS/3DS/3DS XL:

    1. From the HOME Menu, select the Nintendo eShop icon.

    2. Scroll left and select 'Add Funds.'

    3. Select 'Redeem a Nintendo eShop Card.'

    4. Tap the box that says, 'Enter the activation code.'

    5. Enter gift card code and tap 'OK.'

  1. Verify that you are entering the number correctly. Try similar numbers when entering the code. (A 5 might look like a G or an S.)

  2. Verify that you are adding the correct type of funds for your system.

    • A Nintendo eShop Prepaid card is needed for Nintendo eShop (Nintendo Switch, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS).

  3. Make sure the system is set to the correct region:

  • Mobile/Desktop:

    1. You need to pretend to check out a game. At checkout, select ‘Nintendo eShop Card’ as a payment method.

    2. Enter your gift card code and your current gift card balance will be displayed.

    • Redeemable only on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch, Wii U, and Nintendo 2DS/3DS/3DSXL.

  • Total balance cannot exceed $200.
